Dr Kawasaki is a great inspiration for the younger generation of doctors and researchers. He has shown how to believe in the inner self, persuade passion, and to not give up under any circumstances. His initial description of new disease ‘mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome’ though criticized by many, Dr Kawasaki believed in his findings and went on to prove that this disease is, indeed, different from Scarlet fever and drug rash. Kawasaki disease is widely recognized now in almost every part of the world and all credit goes to none other than the great legend, Dr Kawasaki. I got the golden opportunity to meet him in the last Kawasaki disease summit at Yokohama. As a person, I remember him as the most humble and soft-spoken luminary. His deeds and values will be cherished and remembered forever!!
